Ku-Nye massage, also known as Tibetan massage, is an ancient practice rooted in traditional Tibetan medicine. It combines the wisdom of Asian philosophies, considering the human being as a whole body/spirit, and aims to balance and harmonize the physical, emotional, mental, and energetic levels. The term Ku-Nye comes from two Tibetan words: “ku” means oil, and “nye” means to perform massage. So fundamentally, Ku-Nye means “applying massage with oil”

Based on the concept of five basic elements (earth, water, fire, wind, and space) in Tibetan medicine,

Ku-Nye massage primarily focuses on bringing the wind element into balance. The practice involves a range of massage strokes and techniques, with extra attention paid to the hands, feet, head, and specific points described in classical Tibetan Medicine texts. It can help balance the body’s systems, relax tensions, and revitalize energy. The practice has been used for centuries to relieve muscular and joint pain, mobilize joints, and reduce stiffness.

Ku-nye is beneficial as a stand-alone treatment as well as a preventative measure against illnesses and a supportive treatment in conjunction with other modalities. In your Ku-nye treatment, you may receive consultation on diet, herbs, and other health based information.

As a young child , Narayani moved from San Francisco to the peaceful rolling hills of western Sonoma County . Time spent in nature developed her love and interest in plant medicines and natural therapies . In 2002 , she began working at Simplers Botanical Company. During her employment at Simplers, Narayani gained practical hands-on knowledge of plant medicines and trained as an aromatherapist. Her continued curiosity led her to completed her first massage therapy training at Calistoga Massage Therapy School in 2004. One night, while dreaming , Narayani received a very clear message that she should study cranial work. A series of synchronicities led her to discover the ancient art of Tibetan Cranial and her teacher Shar Lee with whom she completed a three year apprenticeship . This study of Tibetan Cranial opened the door to Narayani’s ongoing study of Sowa Rigpa (Traditional Tibetan Medicine) and the beautiful art of Ku-Nye (Tibetan Massage). Sowa Rigpa translates to the “Science of Healing “ and through these practices Narayani has dedicated her life to help heal all sentient beings.

I grew up with severe asthma and allergies, and when traditional approaches failed to bring lasting relief, I began studying with an herbalist and healer to understand the body from a different lens. At 19, a major healing crisis forced me to find my own way through—igniting a lifelong path in health and wellness. I began hands-on bodywork in 2010 and eventually entered a 7-year healing program focused on the physical, emotional, and energetic dimensions of health, with specialized study in cancer, autoimmune conditions, and heart disease. My work is rooted in a deep understanding of how tension moves through the body, and I pride myself on the quality of contact I bring to each session. My mission is to help clients reconnect with themselves through bodywork—holding a space where they can return to center and allow true healing to unfold.

I grew up with intense pain and illness, and every doctor had a different theory about what was wrong. I didn’t feel like my body was a friend—it felt like something I had to fight against every day. Over time, I began teaching myself how to create wellness and joy in my body, starting the long and beautiful process of re-friending myself. I did this by truly listening to what my body had to say—and responding with care. This is the foundation of my work: in each session, I listen and respond.

That journey gave me not only a lifelong passion for the healing arts, but deep compassion for those in pain. I began massage school at 19, earned an A.A. in Kinesiology: Sports Medicine, and pursued extensive trainings in bodywork, healing, and functional anatomy. I’m currently in training as a non-physician osteopath, continuing to deepen my understanding of how the body holds, expresses, and heals.

I know what it’s like to lose your voice in relationships.

Bullied by other girls at a young age, I learned early that shrinking myself made things easier—for everyone but me. Years of people-pleasing left me disconnected, resentful, and unsure of what I really needed. When I found Compassionate Communication tools as a teen, something shifted. I began to speak up—not to fight, but to be real. I learned how to stay honest and connected. Since then, I’ve spent over a decade studying and practicing NVC, alongside Ayurveda, Mindfulness, and Relational Somatic Healing. This work isn’t just something I offer—it’s something I live (P.S. It’s how I keep my marriage alive and well!)

>This work is for you if:

You feel like you’re always the one holding it all together—or that your needs are too much.

You’re navigating a rupture, a breakup, or wondering if it’s even repairable.

You want to trust your own voice and set boundaries without guilt.

You crave deeper connection but don’t want to abandon yourself to get it.

You’ve done the work—read the books, listened to the podcasts—but still feel stuck in real-time moments.

You don’t have to figure it out alone. I’d be honored to walk with you.
